I would be interested to know from any vodafone staff in the know - what is the arrangement with TP-link for providing new firmware for security fixes for our NZ version? Once a year?  Only if they find something wrong?

The US version got a new version back in March but nothing for us yet

Usually they are only released if there is something to fix or a feature/bug update. Minor ones may wait until they are bundled with other changes. So update times can vary.

The Vodafone X20's have had one release since launch (Nov 20, 2020). You get the pop up straight after setup, or otherwise via a banner or update page.

Different regions get different releases. Even the retail X20 in NZ is a different variant to the Vodafone NZ one (hardware is the same, but the software has some changes - eg it auto connects to Fibre, rather than a user manually have to add settings and simplified setup screens)

Vodafone inputs to changes, but TP-Link owns the builds and pushes out any new firmware
