Does anyone else have the issues of watching a channel and the picture and/or audio freezing then when it resets itself makes a  audible noise (hard to explain what kind of noise) ?

I get periodic blips and pauses, both in audio and video.  Alt TV was often unwatchable at times.

Could be a dodgy decoder, which the Analogue ones are known to blow up after a period of time as has been posted on GZ before.  Otherwise I would check your signal as either you could have dodgy wiring from TCL into your house.  I never have any breakup on Alt TV.

Cheers, it does seem to come and go...I haven't noticed it for a few days...we have 2 of the digital decoders in our house...perhaps that has something to do with it.

Do both decoders have the same problem?? If so perhaps it might be worth ringing up TCL and getting them to check the signal level.

It's not enough for me to want to get it replaced. I don't watch much TV, simply because it's mostly utterly horrible.
Another anomaly is the pesky programme info - sometimes it's just not there. I looked at C4 before and it's stuck on midnight last night!
I can't say I've had many blips or visual glitches at all lately. It used to be very, very frequently, now I barely notice it.

Had the same problem last year. Big glitches to black and square wave audio splats. Had the service guys over several times...they tried all sorts and never really got it right then one day..when I about to can the service.. it just came right. My signal was down around 15% now its always 50% and 100% quality on the meters. One thing that did help whjen it was really bad was unplgging (unscrewing) the EPG modem off the splitter..just boosted signal enuf to stabalise some of te worse channels. Always worse on Alt, UKTV, E, Trackside and the (more than likely) lower bandwidth channels.Keep hassliing them...if anything those audio splats could damage your speakers if your at high volume!good luck

I know the TV service has its faults but this one sounds a little more extreme than normal.

Just out of curiosity, do you have any wireless devices in close proximity to the decoder like a router or cordless phone?

How sure are you that it's the service and not the feed from Sky? I'm in Auckland on Sky Digital and get the same thing.

Seems to be happening literally every 5 seconds tonight on Sky News. Makes it almost unwatchable...that and it being in 4-3Sealed

Sky News looks fine now.  You have to remember TCL passes through the Sky Channels.  Channel problems can (and often do) occur at Sky TV, not TCL, especially the case since all Sky Channels are now passed direct through TCL's headend and out onto the cable.
