So today I was thinking I am spending to much money texting a good mate and went to sign up for bestmate, went to the website (like they tell us too because they don't want us to call them) and did everything it asked, System comes back saying that its happening and it would take 5 mins for it to be active and it would text me.  Sweet I was thinking, that is easy, anyway 30mins later and still no text so log back in to see that "We've been unable to complete your request to purhcase this add-on please call 777" which is funny because the message before said it would be active in 5 mins. (and if there is an error it would have been nice to know, maybe a text saying it was not active). So I check all the details of the phone number and its all correct.



So call 777 from my phone and had to sit there and listen to them trying to drum up business for their home phone and internet package which is a pain in the butt when I just want to speak to someone, so after the menus i get to speak to someone that is kind of hard to understand (yep overseas call centre) and she pulls up my account, "OH yes there has been a problem, but I can't help you I have to email someone else to get the error removed and then you can try again", I told her i don't want to try again and just to add the number, "oh I can't help with that until the error is removed and I can't remove the error, but once i found out that it has been taken off then I will add the number for best mate" So now it has been 6 hours and still nothing, After dealing with vodafone I really don't expect the call centre person to text me at all (due to the horror stories i hear from here and else where) and I can't do a thing with my account due to the "you already have 1 request on your account"

ARGH

I have changed, removed, added my bestmates online without problem at all.

Still seems very annoying that they cant email out before the recurrance of them happens. I normally just leave the envelope flashing on the phones since I dont want to be texted on them...

my experience for what it's worth
Just got an iphone and could not for the life of me figure out how to put best mates back on even though the web said it was availiable but onmy account details and add ons said I couldn'tRang 777 and within minutes it was addedProblem solvedCheers

If you don't want to get SMS just PM me the number and I can stop that (it will stop all incoming SMS)

I may as well throw in my experiences too! I added a bestmate through the web, it said there was a problem and  toring 777, so i did that and talked to a guy that said it was simple and my problem would be sorted in half an hour. 4 hours later nothing, ring again and talk to someone else who said the same thing and that it will he will fix it and ring me back soon.. a day later and nothing! I phone again this time not too impressed, this time im put on hold a few times and the guy said that it was sorted and will be done in half an hour, here im thinking yeah right! but i get a call half an hour later and it has been done. I dont know why it took three calls and a day and a half to do but we got there finally, would have been nice if the website had of worked the first time around tho!

I just did it via txt first time and it works fine... Done it with about 3 bestmates now and txt2000.... Dont know why you are all having troubles..

Its much quicker to txt BUY BESTMATE1 to 756 I reckon. Smile

Text ADDON INFO to 756 to check what addons are available to you

Hope this helps someone out

jon was able to fix it for me the following monday, but had to change the number the other day so did it via the call center and not the web LOL

Doing addons via the website for On Account customers is a pain in the backside.

It was so much easier when i was prepay.

Now just looking at the Add-ons page gives me a huge bloody headache.

Heres me, trying to add a Nickname for my best mates..

Type in the name, press select, and what? nothing happens.

Go and check the details, and nope, not there either.



All I can say is that its a headache.

If im missing something here, then please tell me, because I would absolutely LOVE to have it working.


It'd be so much easier if they just used simple tables all layed out nicely and details were easily read/changed/deleted.

Excuse my what may seen excessive rambling. But i'm tired, not only from my day, but from also calling vodafone when I want something done to my account.
