hello everyone,

does anyone know if it's possible to reactivate prepay number over phone? it's gone inactive pretty recently as I forgot to top up. I called call centre but all I got was 'visit the store' as call centre staff doesn't have sufficient rights to action this. I am currently in Oz so cannot visit any store. Is there a way to do this online or over the phone??

Thank you

Nope zero chance over the phone this needs to be done by someone with correct access and able to make database changes!

Also if the number is now in a paired state in the db kiss it goodbye as it is paired with a new SIM card to be provisioned in a bulk file

Less chance of a store staff member doing this!

I use to action these and know the process end to end and it does take about 20 minutes per number

If you have a friend who can go into store with you on the phone, they may be able to assist that way.

Hmmmm

I've found in the past they refuse to help if you say you're overseas but if you talk to the roaming team you may have better luck as they deal with only people overseas and may have a different process in place.

@midiii Very poor advice and the roaming team would not touch it! For the start they do not even have access to the IT systems that could reactivate the MSISDN

This is not related to roaming in anyway at all

Shrug, vodafone refuse to talk to anyone not in NZ who cant walk to a store.

If they cannot support their roaming customers who cannot visit a store then that's that I suppose but pretty weak effort on their part.

Move to New Zealand's best fibre broadband service (affiliate link). Free setup code: R587125ERQ6VE. Note that to use Quic Broadband you must be comfortable with configuring your own router.

@midiii The customer is not roaming! It is not a roaming fault the customer failed to topup the preay mobile number to keep it active and 13 months after last topup it was deactivated

If it is recent enough with some providers at least just topping up the phone reactivates it.

Might be worth a try.

@evnafets Once the SIM card fails to register on the mobile network it is removed from all IT and Core network systems topping up the mobile number can not happen
