Does anybody know if it is free to call Australia 1800 numbers from my vodafone prepay while roaming in Australia?

Its free to call 0800 numbers (if they accept your call) when you are in NZ but I have no idea if it works like that when in Australia - probably not Im suspecting.

No they're not. You pay your usual airtime rate per minute for them.

Typically speaking you pay for all calls while roaming even toll free numbers or service calls that may be free inside that country from a mobile.

if you can find one, use a phonebox?  or buy a $2 vodafone SIM card?
