I live in a newly built area where new houses are still going up, there are many rubbish skips around the neighborhood for building materials etc.  My nephew found a Chorus model 300 ont with power supply in one of the skips. Is it worth bothering Chorus, would they want it back etc? appears to be unused serial sticker etc is still on it. Please leave at property sticker.

Or should i pop it into the ewaste pile?

That's quite an interesting find in a new housing area - I can't think why anyone would remove an ONT from a new house and throw it out, unless they genuinely didn't know what it was. Flick me a DM with the serial number and I'll see if I can trace where it came from. I'll also check internally whether it's something we want to get back.

We've tracked where this ONT came from and out local Network Connect Manager is investigating how it ended up in the rubbish skip - he's in contact with the builder of the subject property and I imagine we'll be arranging for it to be put back.

Thanks to @apsattv for bringing this to our attention 😃

Yes all taken care of and thanks for the nice little reward of a couple of Chorus rechargeable LED flashlights. My nephew is gonna be thrilled with his new Flashlight.
