Gidday, these are the settings from my adsl modem:

DSL Status:     Connected
DSL Modulation Mode:     ADSL2+
DSL Path Mode:     Interleaved
Downstream Rate:     7547 kbps
Upstream Rate:     165 kbps
Downstream Margin:     24 db
Upstream Margin:     37 db
Downstream Line Attenuation:     17 db
Upstream Line Attenuation:     3.5 db
Downstream Transmit Power:     11 db
Upstream Transmit Power:     22 db

This looks a bit like 7mbit and 128k up (i'm on the River plan). However, all speedtests i've tried report that i'm on about 2mbit download and 128k up. I have disconnected all other phones / filters in the house. I have also tried connecting with a Dynalink, D-Link and currently use a Linksys modem, all with the same result.

Any comments or suggestions welcomed :)

Whenever data is sent to you, your PC needs to acknowledge that it did receive data. Being limit in how fast you can acknowledge receiving data will limit how fast you can receive more data (typical around 2M to 3M). There is a setting for increasing the amount of data sent to you before you need to acknowledge, someone will probably post that info, I've never looked into it because I spent little time on River before I went for Fusion which is FS/FS.

Change to either Flood or Fusion; these are FS/FS plans. As Neil said, the 128up is restricting your downstream.

Best I ever got on FS/128 was ~450kB/s, so roughly 3600mb a second.That was from citylink ftp which I think's in Wellington and I'm in Mt Vic so I guess it only had a K or so to travel :)

I think I was on telecom at the time.

Just tried again and I was getting ~350kB/s (2800mb/s) on xnet, adsl details below for your reference.

Downstream Margin:	23 db
