Now im not the only one, but lately several people that live close by to me (glendowie, auckland) have been having problems with vodafone, for example phones reverting to "Emergency only" mode whilst on full bars, and text messages failing to send also whilst on full bars (3g and 2g). These happening multiple times daily. Coverage is usually superb, but this really odd.

If somebody could shed some light (John) then that would be greatly appreciated. (I couldnt call 777 as its sunday and nobody was there).

Thanks alot.

[Given its happening to multiple people in the same location] one would assume when it states SOS calls only your phone is in fact connected to an alternative network ?telecom and not your vodafone network.  Maybe you have a few bad reception areas for vodafone??

Hmm, Mine won't latch onto Telecom (NZ05) or 2Deg (NZ24)even If I try to manually select it.

Can someone do me a huge favour, actually TRY to make an outbound emergency call by dialing 112 while the phone is in this mode (make sure you hang up immediately when you hear the start of the recorded message) "You have dialed 111 emergency, your call is being connected"

And let me know the outcome.

What type of device are you on??  When it happens can you do a manual lookup on the device to see what network it's attached to??

Has this happened since Friday? There was a issue in the area and it should be resolved now
