Hiya All,

I searched the forums and found a number to enter on this 2007 post  http://www.geekzone.co.nz/forums.asp?ForumId=40&TopicId=11891
**61*+6421700100**[NN]# then press call/send

I then called Ciaro (777) and asked and they txt me the number to use of:
**61*021700100*11*30#

neither of these have worked, both reporting "request not completed"

Is there a known working number? I am on prepaid if that makes a difference.

Thanks.

Fred.

Works for me, but I use the full number:

**61*+6421700700*11*30#

try here and here.

edit: granted, I'm on-account, and the thread you mention does actually state that you can't change it on a prepay - I don't know how true that is. Paul, John?

You should be using 021700100 or +6421700100 for VM diverts. If you don't you'll find yourself (or at least used to) paying for diverts to VM.

You can not extend / shorten ring time on prepay before call goes to voicemail 20 seconds is default

You can remove voicemail and then paging time is 40 seconds and paging is dropped

Is there a technical reason why prepay users can't extend the paging duration?

Pretty much EVERY handset has in inbuilt menu which would have been much easier. Usually called "Call Divert, Phone options, Phone settings. and select "Voice calls"
Cairo, hmmmph.

If you are on PrePay, your divert is fixed and cannot be changed from the 20 seconds.
If you are on-account, the divert can be changed easily through a phone menu (almost every handset after 1998)or that above long GSM standard code.

Or you can have "OCCF" removed (operator controlled call forwarding) which will allow you to change your dverts manually or simply turn them off. I have divert to voicemail only if I'm out of coverage or phone is switched off. "If out of reach"

The "paging" duration is fixed in the network to 40 seconds for both on-account and prepay users.

"Paging" is the network telling your handset there is a call awaiting and continues until the 40 seconds are up or the mobile reponds with a "yes/divert/busy" response.

Yes, except there isn't a place (usually) to set the ring duration, hence the need for the code.

So why do you submit a new value with the code? Doesn't that request the network to changing the duration for that 'client'/SIM/whatever-it's-called? Or is that just updating something in the phone OS to change how long it is before it responds with a 'divert' message to the network?

The change is made on the mobile network

Prepay connections are not provisioned to setup diverts and to change the ring time a divert is required

Aha! thanks JohnR, that's the reason why. Makes perfect sense now. So the only 'diversion' that prepay get is to voicemail? and that can't be adjusted? (except by you guys removing it to extend the ring duration to 40 secs?)

As pointed out by Steve

Do not use +6421700700 it should be +6421700100

+6421700700 is to pickup voicemail
