leaves me wondering,
has everyone that was dissatisfied with xnet left, or,
is everyone suddenly satisfied with the service, or,
has my computer got a glitch somewhere.
Kind of like waking up after a party and finding all the guests have gone home.
Keeps the blood pressure down a bit though not reading a few of those previous gripes.

People have basically learn't that xnet are reading any of the complaints anymore and it is a common fact that the QOS is bad so no need to repost the same thing that has been posted 100 or so times

They are reading, they are just not responding unless they have something positive to add.  They have learned to do PR.

If it is quiet for long enough, perhaps Maverick and the other regulars will start posting again.  Sure would be nice to hear their "voices" again.

Well, xnet still don't have enough international bandwidth, so nothing has changed.

It's sad. At 8am weekdays I can max out my DSL line and download podcasts at 1.6Mbit/s.
Downloading the same podcasts from the same server at 6pm, I can only get them at 200kbit/s..

About a week ago my phone went down, so I rang them on the c/phone, got through straight away, problem fixed in under 5 minutes, pleasantly asked if there was anything else. All well, but then I am not a high end user and happy as long as I have my phone and access to the web.  Hope I have the same luck with Powershop

Yep, sorry I just came back to your place to pick up the power cord for the ghetto blaster I stole from the party last night.

Nothing to see here, keep moving...

I reckon they've lost a considerable chunk of customers.

Not enough, obviously. :P
(Since international still sucks during peak)

It wouldn't take many users to saturate their bandwidth capacity.

Talking about the internet side and not vfx...

I would guess they lost many "good" customers who don't use a lot of data or bandwidth but do care about latency and performance for: general web, email, gaming, voip, social networking and low res video.

I would guess they retained many of the "bad" customers that only care about how many movies and mp3's can be pirated via bit torrent, rapidshare and megaupload.

Doesn't sound like an effective business model to me but then I suspect the VFX probably generates a decent profit and the ADSL/internet doesn't hence the lack of focus on improving it.
