Hi guys (and gals).  Here's a question from one who's always been in the dark about electrical current:  I have two Nokia cellphones.  Both have chargers that look similar, and also have a plug that fits into either phone.  But one charger outputs 5.3 volts at 500 ma while the other delivers 5.7 volts at 800ma.  Are they interchangeable?
Thanks :-)

I would say yes to both being interchangeable, most nokia standard batteries are 3.7v (BL6C) the amps is just how much current is being applied, again in most cases not much difference, it can be noted that some power transformers list either a variable or continious amp rating & it may show are variable rate of 800ma but a continious rate of only 500ma.

Hey thanks n00dy for your response.  So you reckon that YES, my chargers are interchangeable with my two cellphones, despite the stated differences in volts and amps?

OK, that's what I wanted to know - I'll charge my two phones with either charger and it should make no difference what-so-ever.  Great!  Thanks again....

I have not had any problems with nokia chargers not charging, other then once when I plugged a cable for a desktop charger that had 12v on it into one of my nokia 1100's and got "not charging" followed by it never charging again.

The N80 was the most fussy phone I have used, and the N95's and my telecom elcheapo nokia will say they are charging on my $2 shop charger but not actually get any charge in them. The same cahrger with interchangable ends will charge my old sonyericsson just fine however.
