Hey guys, I got my dad a cheap Smart E10 phone due to his old one being taken off the network with no 4G.

Setting it up earlier, when I try and add contacts it just goes to this enable settings screen and I cannot add contacts at all, is there any way to get around this or anyone have any experience with this and know the fix?

Haven't tried a factory reset or anything yet in case it didn't bake right or something, but maybe there is something obvious I'm missing?

Thanks a bunch in advance :)

I'm not convinced that phone actually supports 4G VoLTE, which is what you'll need, and the reason the old phone was an issue. That's an old phone, and from what I've been able to find with a quick search only indicated 4G data, which is not the same thing. If that's the case, this phone really shouldn't even be available for sale with the upcoming changes to voice. Unless someone can point out that it does in fact support VoLTE, then I would be taking it back as it won't be fit for purpose.

Thanks for the reply, in the end it just wasn't finding the android update originally, when I managed to get it to actually update it seemed to fix everything with the contacts.

In regards to the VoLTE stuff it does seem to be supporting that as it is beside the network signal icon on the phone, thank you for the heads up though it was worth a look, I appreciate it :)

So to anyone else who may have this weird issue of not being able to add contacts, just make sure you get it up to date... even if it says it is, it likely isn't haha, so just keep trying.

Glad you got it working. If it shows "LTE" you should be good to go. I wish they'd include the important details with these cheap handsets, it's pretty much the most important bit you need to know! Yes, checking for updates when you buy any new device is quite important, especially if it's been on the market for more than a minute (yay electronics).

You'd think they could include it on the product page, bold and highlighted, so a quick squiz would have it unmissable.
