Sister has ordered a dell mini 9 from dell, but they are giving stupid shipping times (20+ days)

do vodafone have them as a stock item?

Any differences between them? Does the vodafone one come bundled with a vodem stick like on the add on tv or is it a built in wireless device?

Would be getting it at the $799 no term plan if we were to get it from vodafone.

Also the warranty - is it with dell or vodafone?

Sounds good. Have spoken to her and she will see about cancelling the dell order tomorrow. If that cant be done, do the ones from dell have a 3g radio in them by default - I cound find anywhere on their site to spec one when ordering, or any details about it if it does - I would have thought there would be an opportunity to choose which card you would get when ordering from them if it was supplied.

Just found that the vodafone dell only has a 8 gig SSD in it.

Given the choice it looks like getting from dell is a better option since it has 8 more gigs and the time has become more sensible.

Do Dell give an option to have the HSDPA modem added in? Or is that only avaliable from Vodafone?

There are a few sites online where people have modded them to do hsdpa when it wasnt supplied with it. Apparantly the sim holder is tricky to find, and there are no antennas in it (strange, a mates inspiron had a full antenna compliment despite there being no hspa option when he ordered it)

For what its worth and it being 2100 only from vodafone we had a talk about it and getting a tstick isnt a big deal later on, its just for traveling at the moment and roaming data is so expensive that the 3g card would not get used, and its not worth the hassle for getting local prepay sims all over europe, and when back here it would be more use with 850MHz on it then 2100.

A friend will see what they can do about getting a card later on if we want it but I have a feeling that it will be a tstick or bluetooth teathering for the odd mobile data needs.

If the vodafone one was 16 gigs (or even better the 32 option they get in the states now) then it would have being a no brainer.
