I currently have the xnet fusion service with a ported local number. I'm about to ditch xnet for another naked provider, but have no problem with xnet VOIP so am happy to keep it.

Has anyone tried doing this? Does anyone see any issues?

In theory I should be fine, but I have visions of my local number dissappearing into a black hole.....

In theory no issues.  I would put it in writing exactly what you want to have done (i.e. e-mail or fax), then it is up to them to sort it out.  But there should be no issues with your number.  It is not like they need Telecom to get involved for porting or anything, it is all internal processes apart from disconnecting your ADSL account.

You can never have enough Volvos!

Shouldn't been an issue, however, I'd find a dealer to help you make sure everything goes right.

No you shouldnt have any problems you are only changing ISPs not your phone service to another provider. Your phone should carry on as normal but just remember with changing ISPs you will have to pay Xnet $11.25 a month for the VFX service and all calls you make with the other naked dsl provider will come off your data cap

Good point about the data cap, but hardly use the phone so no prob.

Now if I could just get one of the other ISP's to actually reply to my inquiries......Undecided

I use another ISP (see your other thread) and still use Xnets VFX service, works identically due to my new ISP peering directly to xnet as well as via the APE reflectors.

Cant really say a bad thing about VFX, does what is says it does.

Right then, order placed with new ISP. Asked them about VOIP and they said "no idea, we just place the order to transfer ADSL" Sounds fair enough.

SO contacted xnet and askeg how I keep VOIP and they said if I have VOIP but change ISP's for ADSL then by default my VOIP will stay in place because nobody would have instructed them to stop it.

Sounds too easy too be true...fingers crossed!
