Not too sure if anyone can help but here is my problem:

VFX Asterix (trixbox) service with 2 lines.  When using only 1 trunk, registers fine, can make and receive calls ok on all extensions.
When I add a second trunk for the second line - either with or without incoming route specified I am unable to send or receive calls.  Extensions can no longer register and when further changes are made and apply configuration hit, trixbox locks in applying settings.  A reboot (or two) is then required.

Has anybody struck a problem like this before?

Use a different port for each. Ie. Trunk 1 on 5060 and Trunk 2 on 5061.

It shouldn't matter but I have had this issue before and doing the above helped.

Thanks adamj for the repsonse but still no go. Changed ports as suggested.

Ip trunks online showing 2 but IP trunk registration is 0

As before, is ok until a 2nd trunk is added, now extensions will not even register...strange.

Spoke to WxC, very helpful but was told problem not at their end as I could register trunks individually, suggested forum for help. Just tried with new setup in another box, exactly same problem. Am thinking of trying Elastix to see if any better results, any thoughts on this?

I have 2VFX trunks setup on my Trixbox working fine. Post your config here (xxx out phone numbers / username / passwords).
Also try switching to opendns servers on your box and router.

All working now - finally! Put in a new router and changed the DNS as suggested above, unsure what actual cause what but appreciate help and feedback provided. I will revert settings one day soon to try and see what the issue was.

I have one other question, are there any special settings needed for VM to email? I have changed the smtp and entered address etc but still no go, not a biggee but would be nice to have it working.

Thanks again for help

Yea, VM to email can be a pain & a 1/2. Quick & easiest way is to use your ISP for outgoing server, and for the email address to also be @yourISP. Beyond that it starts getting more complex due to spam filtering etc. A whole new topic, but check out for some clues:
