Has anyone here got the Vodafones' Home Phone Wireless or got any practical experience from it?

It seems quite cheap, for the basic option, but does that mean there are some limiting drawbacks (reception/dropouts etc).

Only real drawback is that faxing and Sky don't work over these. If none of these are important to you then it's a good move.

The only other thing that may be an issue is that the At Home box is easy to install if you just have a single phone at home. If you have multiple jackpoints around the house and want these all to work you'll need to make some wiring changes to connect these to the box.

Make sure you get a good quality cordless phone or you can hear the GSM paging noise.

Hi,

I got this for my daughter in her flat, perfect for the situation where people move around a lot, and it has worked great in the several months we have had it. Only issue I can think off is that when I go to the Post Office to pay, they don't know what it is!

She has a corded phone on it, and reception is great. But I suppose it depends on your area.

Nothing else comes close price-wise (unless you count Woosh, but they only do that with Broadband, not on its own)

Woosh doesnt come anywhere near close for reliabilty since its on their flakey IP network.

I know one person with the at home for another line for their business - they have a few issues with DTMF to remote IVR's, and long post dial delays sometimes - on occasion it will fail to complete the call like when using a GSM mobile phone.

Is it possible to port a number from xnet fusion?  The drop down menu on the website doesn't have them as an option.
