Recently, I have found myself tethering my Nokia E71 to my laptop for the internet since my college blocks just about every website you can think of. ANyway, I have been trying to connect to Windows Live Messenger, and have failed to sign in every time. it just about logs in, and i say just about, because the icon in the task-tray changes as though i was signed in.

but it immediately logs me out, and says "... will try and reconnect in ...seconds"

What is the problem heere?

I tried restarting the laptop, restarting the connection, restarting my phone.

Not sure what else there is to try tbh..

Any help would be much appreciated.

Just as a side note: I can sign into other apps such as IRC and Skype. They both work fine.

UPDATE: Alright, just to update the thread; It was because of my contact list (being over 900 contacts) it wasnt able to log in for some reason; im guessing a time out or something similar. However, after deleting a couple of hundred contacts i have now been able to successfully sign in over 3G.

oh okay. weird, i just tried using the software on a different PC (with a different OS) and still, it doesnt log me into MSN. it says "reconnecting in ... seconds"

Stoopid thing!

If it's broke, its been broked for about a week now :( - MSN is working perfectly normal on my Orcon ADSL2+ connection. so it's only when im connecting via 3G

I just created a new account, and its working fine; im putting it down to having such a big contact list. I will run some more tests and see.
