As per title, anyone else having this issue. At a guess it started a week ago? I’m on the 20gig then capped to 64k plan. Wondering if its something to do with resetting your ip daily incase you go over you cap?? Have to hard reset the router and wait aprox 5 mins for it to spring back into life.

Cheers,

Alex

The cap is to do with your username, not with the IP address you have.

Have you changed any of your configuration lately?  What make/model is your modem?

Thanks, I would have thought when you were capped, you went into another address pool.

Anyway,

Router is an Linksys WAG200G with 1.01.04 firmware. Things I have chaned as of recent, chaned DSL Modulation from multimode to ADSL2+. Might try changing this back and see if it makes a diffrence now you have jogged my memory. Current connection stats, if of interest:

DSL Status: Connected
DSL Modulation Mode: MultiMode
DSL Path Mode: Interleaved
Downstream Rate: 7547 kbps
Upstream Rate: 944 kbps
Downstream Margin: 25 db
Upstream Margin: 14 db
Downstream Line Attenuation: 16 db
Upstream Line Attenuation: 3.5 db
Downstream Transmit Power: 12 db
Upstream Transmit Power: 20 db

Yes, same problem here (Wellington, on a Telecom line) - On June 6th & 7th, and then every morning from June 10th onwards, my link has gone down at 1am. My router keeps trying to bring the link back up, but it's 5 minutes before it gets up again.

It looks like it's the PPP session that goes down, the DSL layer seems to stay up.

Very annoying, I'm a bit of a night-owl and it's got me while I've been surfing the last three nights.

Ditto, good excuse for me to go to sleep earlier tbh. I'm in Dunedin btw.

Hmmm, didn't die this morning, weird. Maybe it was the change from ADSL2+ mode to Multimode.

Mine went down at 1am this morning as usual, although only 30 seconds this time. Still of course it's enough to break my VPN to work every morning, and it can't auto recover as it uses one-time passwords.

I guess this is Vodafone's way of helping me finally get around to looking at alternate providers.
