Can someone delete those last 2 posts not sure what happened but when submitted came up with blank screen (using Firefox).

Hi guys

Tried calling helpdesk but cannot get through so will try later on. In the mean time hope someone here can help.

Lately (actually for a long time but came right for couple of months) our calls go mute for incoming voice but occasionally outgoing. This morning I called home and every few mins my partner said it was cutting out even though I could still hear her fine. Total call was around 50mins and probably cut out dozen times in that period.

I think I read somewhere on here in the past about codecs that xnet use might need to be changed in some cases. Does this sound like an issue that could be caused by wrong codec on my line?

FYI running dynalink RTA1335 and Linksys WRP400

Cheers

Probably only the PAP2T that has the lower quality CODEC. It can be the phone, especially if it is a cordless phone. One of my mom's DECT handsets does that (but not the second handset).

If you do not get through to XNet, their staff still reads these posts and will probably contact you if they see the post here.

Thats the one. Hadn't realised I had posted original post Undecided.

Anyway yeah pretty much same issue. Since that post it came right for couple months and then we moved house and had issues with modem connection dropping out in the new place. Long story short wiring in house was crap so I rewired directly from darmac to the modem which solved that issue and everything seemed to be running fine as well as nice boost in stats.

Now phone back to its tricks again so presuming nothing has ever been fixed its just picky as to when it wants to work properly.

If I was to get a new modem what is recommended one? Looks like Dynalinks are supposed to be quite good and seen RTA1320 highly rated? Any combined modem/router units out for VFX yet?

The Draytek range of routers have an excellent PPPoA to PPPoE bridge mode. This effectively makes the WRP400 king. I have quite a few sites setup in this way.
There is now also an all in one unit: Linksys WAG310G. This is a great choice too.
