Im currently looking around for a WWAN card for my Dell Studio XPS 16.  It has the simcard slot and all the rest of it ready, it just needs the card.

Im wanting one to do the new 900Mhz UMTS frequency if possible.

However I am assuming i would get better signal from a USB dongle? If someone would care to help me out with that too. Thanks

PS: I did a search on Ebay, and so far, all I can find, is PCI-e WWAN cards that only do 850/2100 UMTS. Which isn't exactly helpful because im on Voda.

Oh yes, he found one. Works beautifully. His is a 850/2100 MHz device though - currently connected to XT Network if I am not mistaken.

Ahhh right.
Pain in the butt though. I seem to be only able to find USB adapter than can do 900UTMS.

I guess most networks use 850 at the moment?

Yes. The U.S. (AT&T) and Australia (Telstra) use 850MHz which means a 850/2100 gets a lot of coverage if you travel a lot.

Re the better signal thing. Don't know about Dell, but with the HPs with internal WWAN you plug the card into an internal screen aerial much like wifi. I would have thought this offered better coverage personally.
