Take this with a grain of salt with everything else you hear.

Rumour has it and I've heard from a source inside Vodafone that they will launch new IPhone plans at some stage after the release of the 3GS.

This would coincide with the fact Telecom are still a few months from launching.

The question being if anybody resigns or signs up on the current plans I wonder if we'll be allowed to move onto the new plans (obviously if there are better) or if we'd be forced to wait the term out.

Seriously making me consider buying outright and waiting!!

Food for thought anyway!!

Or you could just signup now, and pay an early termination fee when you decide to try a different plan..

Either way, you'll spend the same on the handset.

I'm going for a plan now, regardless of future plans, and taking advantage of 3 months of 3GB/month data cap. When and if better plans come along, I know that terminating my contract won't make the phone cost anymore than it does paying for it outright up front..

the rumour mill also tells me that Cadbury are going to increase cocoa content to 101%

And Vodafone are moving to a 5G network next month too

This is an interesting post. With real competition in the mobile sector imminent, what does happen if the cost of calling decreases?

They can either change the plan names and tell people already on a plan tough bikkies or they could adjust the "free" minutes on existing plans and apply them retrospectively.

Can anyone remember when mobile calling prices last changed and whether new "minutes" were applied to old plans?

To be honest, I don't think they did "just change".

IIRC, what they do is just add new plans instead.

EDIT: Although.. This is the Apple iPhone, anything is possible.
