I have been trying to login to my vodafone for the past few weeks and I keep getting the error which says I need a valid username and password.

I have completed the online password reset about 20 times, logged in with both my mobile number and my email address and both return the same error.

I went onto a thread on the vodafone forum and some people had the same problem which was apparently caused by a system outage or something which has apparently been fixed but I am still not able to login.

I tried calling customer services but they arent even open on a Sunday? I am just at my wits end with Vodafone. Its like they have small children running the place (apart from a few good people I have dealt with; who I am directing this at as a matter of fact). I have just posted a written complaint to them about misinformation given by Vodafone sales reps because my first complaint sent via their online email complaints service was met with no reply after 2 months.

In the middle of this post I had a Vodafone salesman turn up at my door trying to sell me internet... I would rather stay clear of Vodafone as much as possible at the moment.

If Paul B. or whoever else see this can you please look into the problem. I have been on your forums and people with similar problems are either ignored or when their problem miraculously sorts itself out have the blame put on "user error".

Unacceptable; I have no idea how Vodafone keeps on surviving, they are the worst company I have ever had to deal with ever. Period.

Well I don't really understand why I would be using the wrong login name if the site says that its either your mobile number or email and gives an example which I follow. Also I could login as I have been trying to do before so what has changed?

PM is coming at you anyway thanks.

Please understand that I am just pee'd off because I have had so many problems with Vodafone its just one thing after another.

Thanks for sorting that out.

777 should really just divert to guys who can actually do something :)

Sorry for the "angry customer" attitude.

Cheers

Glad its sorted just remember your user name to login is not your mobile number for you but your email address that you registered with

You might like to update the Vodafone forums as well

JohnR. I do find that MyVodafone cannot handle the "intelligent" email address like "somebody+keyword@gmail.com"

It registered but no email sent out to that. I know it will work on the receiving SMTP as "+" is a legal character, but perhaps Vodafone email server isn't capable of processing it.

Anyhow, I have a login using that format for a PrePaid number, AND I can't change the login despite I could change the email address - how silly.

Now I have "username" for myself, "phonenumber" for my partner, and "email address" for my mom's old PrePaid number!

Can't there be a consistency stand from Vodafone? Perhaps an exercise to get everyone on to the same format on their next login. And if using email address as login, give the ability to change/update their preferred email login address.

Why be so inflexible? Why not just check both..?

Pseudo code...

If loginString is numeric

else

I too am having problems with vodafone. After waiting ages till the XT network came out before upgrading my phone their new pricing was a bit of a disapointment, so I have gone to vodafone. Just going prepay for now till 2 degrees come out before I sign up to a plan so I can make an informed decision. Apparently on vodafone you can't enter an open contract, minimum is one year, even if you already have a phone.

Anyway I went to get my number ported over Tuesday last week, and despite being told it would be done later that afternoon, after many calls to the shop, and a few to vodafone and being told about system problems and stuff, it finally got ported over Friday evening.

Next I tried to register on the vodafone website, typed in my details and then recieved a password by text. Unfortunaltely neither this new password, or the one I originally typed in work. I have tried using both my email and my number but neither work. I have tried to ring vodafone but when I try to talk to an operator I get cut off, and I have emailed them but not heard back, although this could be because on the second screen it asked for my email again and then sent me a message saying that that email was already registered on the network. I am beginning to wish I had stayed with telecom as I never had any issues at all with them.
