It seems that people who have opted to have their caller ID withheld (for privacy reasons) do not know how to enabled their caller ID for one call.

I have VFX call blocking enabled on my phone to stop prank calls to my phone where caller ID is turned off.

Telecom customers can add 0169 before the number dialled to enable caller ID for one call.

The VFX service provides some sort of message to callers advising that number withheld caller ID calls are blocked.

Questions:

Is 0169 a universal caller ID enable for phone service providers?

Does 0169 work for international callers (where there may be no caller ID)?  Now that is a dumb question...Gordy...

Is it possible for the VFX message to incorporate a reminder for callers to use 0169?

Cheers.... My 2c worth for the day :-)

Gordy

One thing that irks me about the message callers receive is that it states to try the call again later. It doesn't matter how many times a person calls back, if you have anonymous call rejection enabled and the caller uses number withhold, they are never going to get through. At the very least WorldxChange should change the message to omit "please try your call again later".

Interesting comment on the WxC message.
I have never heard the message myself.
Does anyone have a transcript of the current message?

Thanks

Gordy

The wording of the message is:
"The party you are trying to reach does not accept unidentified calls. Please try your call again later. Thank you."
