Hi All

I just feel like having a rant right now. I can 't believe that out of 46 Handsets that Vodafone sell, ONLY 14 of them actually support the extended 3G WCDMA 900 service and most of them are over $1000!!!!!

Cmon Vodafone, get your s**t together. If you want to choose a ridiculous platform such as WCDMA 900, then you need to start getting a lot more handsets to suit it.

The Nokia 6121 can do WCDMA 900. I picked mine up for $300.

I suggest you look again quite a few are in the $320 to $400 mark

Vodafone didn't choose a ridiculous platform - they just happened be be one of the first large scale 900Mhz 3G rollouts in the world.

Virtually every new Nokia handset appearing on the market supports 900MHz 3G and they are certainly well under $1000 - I picked my uncle up his new Nokia for $199 at the start of the year.

WCDMA 900mhz is going to be huge in the next 12 to 18 months

Also Vodafone AU / Optus AU are about to power up national 900mhz WCDMA / HSPA networks

The cheapest phone on sale by vodafone with 3g broadband extended is $349.00.
Now the cheapest phone on XT is $149.00, plus it has quite simlar feature set except for the FM Radio.

I know that the XT phone is generic and the Vodafone one is Nokia, but I wouldn't say that is the cause of the huge price difference.

I only paid $199 for my uncle's 3120c earlier this year, wonder why they're gone up so much?
