Well the time has come to finally leave a company I thought had it all. But the prices go up, the tv quality stays as poor as ever and the internet caps stay as they have been for over two years. In the meantime Sky go HD, Telecom go all 'new age' with great deals and too many of my friends are now on Bigtime and loving it.
Telstraclear have repeatedly charged me for a tv service I cancelled two months ago and have a bunch of CSR's who have little knowledge of their own plans let alone anyone elses. The clincher though is I can now get the same 'services' through Telecom for a phone and internet for 30% less than I pay now with an 'all you can eat' connection thrown in, so its adios.
One question I have though is regarding my email addresses. They are paradise accounts that came with the Telstra connection so does anyone know if I can keep them when I switch to Telecom ? Or will I lose them as Im no longer a Telstra customer.
A final note if anyone from TCL is reading. Sitting still in the world of telecommunications means you are actually going backwards. Your CSR staff are often clueless, your retention CSR's are hopelessly out of touch with the deals your rivals offer, your international calling rates are terrible outside of the UK and Aussie and your prices and caps mean you are no longer competitive in the broadband world. Im 2k from an ADSL2+ exchange and six months from being cabinetised and yet your only come back is that I will have terrible reliability issues on DSL.

. You could get their cheapest plan though, like a dialup one or something so that you can keep it.

I will never use other broadband providers because for the last 3 years cable internet is the most stable for me. In the last 3 years, I can host lots of online games with 10 people from dunedin all the way to perth and singapore. They all enjoys the lag-free game we have. So no, I will never turn back to adsl if I can stay with telstraclear cable.
