OK - so have been trying to solve the following problem with WXC without any luck. We have a SPA9000, SPA400, and two x SPA942 phones. Every 3 or 4th outgoing call results in the reciever being unable to hear us, so, we end up hanging-up and calling back 5min's later.
Call logs show succesful connection, no packet loss. WXC cannot offer any advice.

Anyone here able to suggest something??

Cheers

I had that problem with a faulty wireless handset, was not related to the ATA.

Could be either codec, or firewall issue.
What kind of router do you have? Does it have SIP/ALG - this should be disabled.

Hi Coffeebaron it is a Cisco WAG160N;

Cannot see any SIP/ALG setting.

if it was firewall surely it would not be intermittent?

Can you describe a bit more of how your VoIP network is setup? Where do the SPA9000/400 & ip phones fit in? Do all your extensions run off the 9000 or 400? Etc

So SPA942's are extn of the SPA9000? Is SPA9000 the only device that talks to WxC? Any other extensions, other VoIP providers? The SPA400 also connects to SPA9000?

Have your tried SPA9000 in DMZ zone?

I have had several occurrences of one way speech recently. Using a WAG160N and PAP2. Always OK on the 2nd try.

This prob bit of a long shot. We had issues at home with RTA1335 and WRP400 with random calls. The person on other end could not hear us on and off during the calls.

After trying various things from suggestions here I decided to reset the WRP400 to factory settings. Set it back up and been working solid since (touch wood). Internet still drops out once a week but that is modem which needs replacing.

Assign SPA9000 a static IP
Goto "application & gaming - DMZ" in the router setup. Assign SPA9000 IP to DMZ

Hi Coffeebaron,

Just checked and we already have that setup :(
Yesterday was worse, just about every 2nd outgoing call failed.
As a business this is really disrupting and I am about to try another provider as WXC don't seem to really be interested.

Hello Krome,

Outside of the information we have already provided which has again been repeated in this forum there is not alot more we can offer. Our technical support helpdesk is not geared to provide any support at all for the SPA9000 as it's common setting is that of commercial use and generally supported by a dealer, who inturn gets support from Linksys on issues they are unable to solve themselves.

However, the setup you are using is reasonably complex and a number of configuration adaptations need to be made depending on your internal network, ie do you use the device as a media proxy etc , what type of natting are you using, the issue is within your own network and setup, the reasons calls are failing will be because of natting and addressing issues, this will be a problem you will encounter with any provider. Do your Phones route media directly or via the 9000, most likely looking at the symptom I believe it is not, try changing it to be a media proxy on the SPA9000.

Griven,

1) The information offered here is over and above any help to date from WXC, nothing has been repeated.
2) Media proxy is setup correctly on the SPA9000, thanks - issue still exists.

Have you recently upgraded your modem/router firmware? Are there newer firmware versions available?

Have you actually tried using a different modem?

VoIP issues with different devices aren't unccommon, especially if you're putting lots of RTP traffic through some low end devices. Linksys devices in particular have had plenty of issues in the past.

Hi Krome,

I take it this issue didnt arise until you went through a relocation ? If so what has changed in the setup from the previous location where I take it was working fine.
