Have just tryed ringing customer service but aparently they cant access my bill because of up grades after finaly getting through after 2 dropped calls.....
Anyway i'm on iphone 250 $80 a month and my billing cycle ends on 3rd of month and starts new on the 4th of the month. Back at the start of july it was anounced on twitter by vodafone that all current customers on an iphone plan will get 3 months of 3gig of data and 1000 anynetwork pxts each month for the next 3 months from the start of july. Then is was anounced that it would come into affect form the start of your next billing cycle so i waited to 4 july and started using up some "free data". Got the pdf of my bill today
and i have been charged for  $35.16 for data.

Data
Data Usage $0.10/MB - 03 Aug 997.3596MB $35.16
Data Usage $0.00/MB - 03 Aug 621.5820MB $0.00 $35.16

Data
Internet connection (APN) / Phone number Usage (MB) Amount
live.vodafone.com 0.0098 MB $0.00
www.iphone-vodafone.net.nz 153.9794 MB $0.61
www.vodafone.net.nz 843.3704 MB $34.55
Total data charges $35.16

This is the only info on my bill about data, i can't work out why i have been charged, have vodafone stuffed up or have i missed somthing? or is this some deal that has been worded that you think its free but really hidden cost or starts on a different date than on your bill?

arghhh

can anyone shed some light on my problem?

The link to the T&C is below

I think its just the wording. Might need someone from vodafone billing to explain the nitty gritties about the bill.

I think you pay your usual data plan and get the extra 3GB free.

Got a very helpful person at call center today that have sent a query to billing to sort this. Call center said some of the data has been charged because it went through a different apn for some reasion. So just waiting on a call from Vodafone now.

You have used 2 different APN's on your bill.

Is there any reason why you changed your APN away from the iPhone default?

I haven't changed any thing, phone is standard. Just updates from apple and carrier updates from Vodafone. Jst checked and my current apn is iphone-vodafone.net.nz I asume thats the correct one. Have Vodafone released a different carrier update since the start of 3gig deal that I might of missed?

I got my first bill on the 12th:

www.iphone-vodafone.net.nz 186.3983 MB $0.00
www.vodafone.net.nz 134.7387 MB $0.00

Does that help?
And I think that your normal data cap is replaced temporarily by the 3 month 3gb offer - not added on.

I have been refunded money from Vodafone for data so I am happy. It took 2 calls to get issue sent thru to billing department. And 2 follow up calls to get money refunded as billing department never rang as they said they would.
