I ran the speed test at http://www.nzdsl.co.nz

Using my ISP connection and then switching it off and using the Vodafone 3G modem instead.
The connection for the mobile was 4 Bars using 3G+ (the icon shows that anyway)

World Exchange ADSL2
Download Speed: 4761 kbps (595.1 KB/sec transfer rate)
Upload Speed: 794 kbps (99.3 KB/sec transfer rate)

Vodafone 3G
Download Speed: 413 kbps (51.6 KB/sec transfer rate)
Upload Speed: 329 kbps (41.1 KB/sec transfer rate)

Is that vodafone speed bad? or is it because of the time of day? Any opinions please. The upload speed seems to be nice, but the download speed i thought would have been in the 100-200kb/s range.

Bluetooth generally transfers data at around 40-60KB/sec. This isn't a VFone problem, but a technological limitation of Bluetooth.
Use a data cable and you'll get faster speeds!
