Hi im using imported v800 SE and can't figure out how to
get the vodafone live work.
I've looked though the nz vodafone web page still couldn't find it.
Can anyone teach me how to configure my handset?

And also heard that I won't be able to use some services eg.vodafone live and 3g with imported mobiles properly for some reason. Is this true?

use the sonyericsson.com website and send the correct settings (WAP and PXT) delete all the other data accounts first and you will need to set one yourself called GPRS and use the APN www.vodafone.net.nz no user name or password.

I did what u said. I can get the vodafone live working
but it doesn't work properly. I can't see the picture when I turn it on.
Just like other mobiles without vodafone mark on it.
What I see is list of headings eg.What's Hot, Music & Tones......
And one more thing, how do I buy the 3g music? can't find any

You will need NZ firmware on the handset

Johnr's right, you need the proper NZ VF firmware on the handset. VF are doing some form of detection of handsets and non-NZ VF's ones are not recognised as valid.

I'm working on a customised firmware that will allow you to have an unbranded (ie Z800i) firmware on your phone while allowing access to VF Live! to get all the (lame IMHO) 3G content available there. No idea if it will work or when.

Currently I *think* you can take it out to MobilePhoneRepair and they'll flash it to the proper firmware for you, I'm not 100% sure of this though and they will charge you. This is really your only option at the moment though.

Don't waste your time fiddling with settings though, there's nothing in the phone you can change that will make a difference, it's all about how to phone identifies itself to the VF Live! portal.

This is one of the downsides to buying a non-offical 3G phone.

I am having the same problem too. Is it possible to use totalserver.net to flash the firmware to make the phone work on NZ 3G? lots of different firmwares on one phone tho.

No, multiserver has the same problem I do.

The VF firmware is available... but the content specific pack isn't (I suspect it'll be a langpack or probably even a signed-file-archive that's required)

Audiophiles are such twits! They buy such pointless stuff: Gold plated cables, $2000 power cords. Idiots.
