Hi All,

Anyone on Xnet having problems with accessing www.worldofwarcraft.com?
Pinging 12.129.242.22 proves fruitless, as with attempting to log in.

I quit WoW 2 years ago, but my partner started on WoW, and she's hooked, and getting itchier by the second.

There's also another international site I can't access at the moment, coincidence perhaps?

It's not just to WoW, seems to be any international stuff.
I'm tunneling all my traffic through my ipv6 tunnel (which goes via ACS in wellington) :P

I use a overseas DNS, was having a bit of trouble when I got home until I flicked it back to xnets.

Seems it has also affected opendns aswell, we were having similar trouble at work.

[edit]
Now that I know the problem is suspected to be in aussie and possibly effects all of our connections at work I know tomorrow is going to be fun if it isnt resolved tonight Yell

Seems things are back for the most part now.

[edit]
The cut effected Internode and Vocus and possibly a couple of others.

Xnet traffic goes through vocus, though vocus rerouted things it seems they still had trouble and most stuff went dead after hitting sydney.

Woke up this morning to find the matter had progressed from bad to worse.

I now have no ADSL connection at all.  No ADSL light, and nothing in the system log indicating any problems.

/facepalm

No luck I'm afraid. It seems our issue is completely independent from the recent issues reported.

We have no ADSL light at all :(

I would suggest you may have a different issue, so your best bet is to log a fault with the help desk as it may have just been a coincidence you losing your connect at the same time as the Telecom issue

Well WxC have logged a fault with Telecom, and I am now awaiting a technician to be dispatched apparantly.
This is a huge issue for me, as I get paid within my role to take I.T. Support calls within any 24 hours of the day.  Problem being, I don't recieve cell phone service on Bluff Hill in Napier, so I have it diverted to my homeline. My homeline is VFX, so if I have no broadband, then I have no phone, and the repercussions on my employment could be disasterous.

I have unfortunately had to talk to some of my contacts in TelstraClear Business to enquire about a rapid Phoneline and DSL deployment to occur today.  They are getting back to me to see if it could be done, which would be a lot quicker than having faith in the turn around of a contracting Telecom technician.

It's a shame, as I don't have any problem with WxC's services as a whole.  A damn shame to leave Xnet because of restrictions of Telecom.  :(

Unfortunately it comes down to "who has the fastest solution, wins".  I'm hoping for Xnet

I know this post wont help you, nor make you feel better but are you shure you want to risk your job on a best effort DSL service? I don't know what other connectivity options you have where you live but I'd suggest looking into some diversity.

I've spoken to Bosses of people who work remotely over DSL and they typically dont have any patience or understanding when things go wrong. Perhaps a clothed DSL option would suit you better?

You must be super unlucky to not have mobile coverage. Telecom's does look a bit patchy but Vodafone's looks fairly good for Bluff Hill Napier.
