Is it possible with Vodafone to have 2 SIM cards in 2 seperate phones, but with one account/number? Essentially a cloned SIM.

My dad's car came with a Nokia a few years back, and the two work together very well (steering wheel controls etc.) but he upgraded to a newer Nokia this year and now can't use the built-in carphone stuff. Since it's now illegal to talk without handsfree etc., he's wanting to see what we can do in terms of keeping his newer Nokia and having the old one just living in the car, so he can use either.

I'm pretty sure it's not possible but I'd love to be proven wrong!

While it *may* be possible, no communications carrier in NZ will do this for you. I believe their are 111 issues etc.

You can't have 2 cloned SIM's but Vodafone have had dual phone service (like the Tandem service that Telecom used to offer) for many years that enables you to have a 2nd SIMs and the call will divert between both handsets but only has a single VM box.

There is no mention of this service anywhere on their website but it is available in their billing system, one of the VF guys on here might be able to help you and advise how you can get it as it wouldn't surprise me if the 777 people don't even know about it.

Car phone duo its called $10 per month excluding calls out
2 SIMs 2 different numbers
Car phone number is restricted for all out going calls 1 Voicemail box
People dial the primary number if that is off or not answered calls go to the carphone (free divert) if that is off/not answered then call goes to single voicemail box
