Hi All,

I've a E200 Huawei Vodem from the 3 Network in Australia from when I lived there which I'd now like to use on Vodafone here in NZ with a Post Pay SIM card.

Any ideas if I'm able to reflash the dongle with VFNZ settings and how I would go about doing this?

Cheers,
Jay

Hey All,

I managed to get this sorted myself last night after many hours of head-banging (and not to rock music).

I found that I could download the Vodafone NZ firmware v11 and load this onto the device with no problems. Loading on the Dashboard however caused issues as the card could not then see the network selections, so after much testing, I had to reflash with the "3" Network dashboard from Aussie again.

The next issue was I found the dongle was SIM locked. I couldn't get the VFNZ or 2 Degrees SIM cards to work. I kept getting a USIM or SIM not detected issue which had me stuck.

I then found a website which explained how to remove the SIM locking and provided the tools! http://unlocke220.com/ is the answer. After following my way through this, I managed to unlock the dongle within about 10 minutes. I was pleased to find the software works under Windows 7 also.

So all in all this can be done, and quite easily. I wish I could use the Vodafone VMC Lite, however the 3 Dashboard will have to do.

If anyone has any questions or wants some details, just let me know.

Cheers,
Jay
