Just wondering, as i liked the number as it was similar to my 027 number.

Cheers

How long ago did it expire?

I don't believe there is - once the SIM is unused for 12 months it's automatically deregistered and the number put back in the pool for reallocation.

I had this happen a few years back with a sim and Vodafone refused to give me the number back - you'd think in the world of number ports etc that this sort of thing would be easy as long as the number hadn't already been allocated.

Alas CS couldn't or wouldn't help - I wonder why 99% of my business is now with telecom!

I actually keep the emails from CS at the bottom of my exchange mailbox to remind myself why i'm no longer with them.

Oh just re-reading the email from CS now where every part of their T and C's is regurgitated back to me, who needs customers anyway ........
