I had come accross the odd website that offers free Java games for your moblile. Most are not free as suggested as you ring a number and enter a code and then downloads to your phone.

This is fine, no problem, but the problem is on one, or two websites, your given the oppertunity to download them to PC, then can download them to your phone.

This is where there are not instructions at all of how you get java games to your phone once downloaded to your PC. Most are in Zip format, uzip them then try to transfer then folder to my phone, but does not work, so not as simple as unzipping, then copy and paste to phone.

You can do this to a PDA, but appears not a phone in the same way, and have been looking for instructions on the internet but don't seem to find any.

So how do you get games you loaded from PC to phone?

I have a Sony Ericsson V800.

Okay, You have made the right choice on phone.. it'll run practically ANY java application/game.

[Moderator edit: reference to copy not needed here]

find your hordes of "free" java games on the net. and add them to the
[driveletter]:\MSSEMC\Media files\other

just drop the "AlienLander.jar" file from the ZIP file into that folder, do not put the AlienLander.jad file there. (AlienLander.jar used as example, replace with the actual file)

load the card into your phone and browse to the "other" folder on it,, select it and it'll install it to games. it should now run from "games" with no problems.

The v800 has a larger screen format than most so you can slect "options" on the actual game and set the "screen size" to that of the game (designed for original phone but the v800 seems to run them fine!)

ENJOY
