On the iPhone 3g on the vodafone network how do i get sms delivery reports so i know when a person i text actually receives the text? there are some codes here:

http://www.iphonestalk.com/tip-how-to-get-sms-delivery-reports-on-an-iphone/

vodafone is not listed there.

and is the way to get guaranteed sms delivery without delays by using another sms gateway true as described?:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SMS

because alot of sms messages i send are not received by others on vodafone for like 10 minutes after they are sent. at least when i send an instant message on windows live messenger and it is delayed it says straight away something like 'message delivery delayed'.

I have a feeling SMS reports are not supported on Vodafone's network (and never have been). John would know tho.

Sms reports are disabled at network level and delays at network level do not really happen from congestion could be many other factors that cause delay

As John says there are many reasons for SMS delivery failure for the termination party... no paging response, out of coverage etc etc...

I am a Vodafone employee, however all comments/opinions expressed are my own. i.e. I do not represent Vodafone.
