At Dicksmith's at least all the Vodafone handsets have been reduced by at least $100
The V1050 from Moto is $648 ($100 less)
The Nokia 6680 is $898 ($100 less)
The SE V600i is $648 ($100 less)
The SE V800i is $748 ($100 less) and
The Samsung V500 is $598 ($300 off its original price of $898)
Why?
Well Vodafone is launching 10 more handsets by Christmas and if you attended the roadshow then you would have seen some of the offerings extending the 3G and the Push to Talk ranges
3G
Sharp 703 1.3 megapixel clamshell with 8Mb internal memory and miniSD slot. BT & IR priced around $799
Sharp 903 3.2 Megapixel camera priced around $1349
Nokia N70
Motorola E770v
Samsung ZV10 - 3G handset with 50mb onboard, bluetooth and twin VGA cameras. A 3G handset under $500 priced at around $449
Motorola V3x - on show at the Vodafone Roadshow
Update:
Samsung ZV30 - 40mb on board and transflash , 1.3 megapixel primary camera, triband (cf. Z500v's quadband), bluetooth, ir. $749
Some questionables:
Nokia 6280
Nokia N90 - When will it arrive through official channels?
Sony Ericsson W900
Samsung ZV140
Non 3G
Sony Ericsson Z520i - Quadband flip with Bluetooth and VGA camera
Motorola SLVR - two different models
Motorola V360v - clamshell, PTT, VGA Cam, 5MB on board and transflash slot ~ $399
So if you are on the lookout for a Vodafone handset there will be good offerings, there is a trade in going on at the moment as some handsets are end of life ie: Sony Ericsson K700
You could even be critical and say that the Nokia 6680 is incredibly similar to the N70 and that the 6680's shelf life may be limited.
