I've been having problems with huge pings the last couple of days. I have tried rebooting the router a number of times with no sucess. No problems with with speed or anything else just ping. Using pingtest my ping ranges from 400-4000ms on the Auckland server. And 700ms + to LA.
Yesterday I called the broadband help desk, and was amazed that they had no idea what a ping was!!!!!
I had to try and explain it to two CSR. And explained thats its also on their speedtest on the Vodafone website.
After speaking to the supervisor they advised me that they would need to contact the advanced technical team. Today I received a txt message from vodafone this is what it says
"We need speedtest, traceroute and pingpath results for investigating ping issue. Please provide at least 3 samples with both international and national IP's"
That's it. No instructions, no name, and no avenue to reply to.
I know what a speedtest is, but have no idea what traceroute and pingpath are. And I think its piss poor that I get a text message with no name and nothing to respond to. And also that their so called support desk don't know what a ping is!!!
Could anyone in the know help me out with this.
Many thanks
