I've got a Sanyo 8200 (on telecom) at the moment because I use Push quite a lot.
I'd really like to get myself a 3G Vodafone mobile but don't want to buy just a normal one, am wanting one which will be compatible with Push to talk...

Heres hoping Vodafone lowers there price on push and try and "push" it more into to the general public and not exclusively towards the "business" demographic, which I believe was a big mistake on their part.

I'm just wondering if anyone knows of a 3G Gsm phone that has PTT? and if there are plans for its introduction here...

Push to Talk and 3G are regarded as two different feature sets so you are somewhat out of luck to begin with.

Vodafone NZ's push to talk infrastructure is supplied by motorola and due to standards issues faces compatibility issues with other handsets (ie: Nokia 5140 which was tested).

However, Motorola have signalled the release of software that will run on Symbian Series 60 and UIQ and support push to talk. I can't remember the Vodafone position on this but it is likely that they will branch out and extend their range as much as possible. The Nokia 6680, N70, N90, N91 and the like are Symbian Series 60 phones. The 6680 was launched with the 3G network, the N70 is due very soon and the N90 is on its way, whilst others are coming in the new year. The only Symbian UIQ phone that has 3G I can think of is the announced Sony Ericsson P990 which will be available probably late Q1 next year.

So if you have money to burn and are willing to wait for PoC(push over cellular) technology your best bet is a symbian series 60 handset or holding tight for now

Nokia also have a symbian series 60 handset with Push To Talk as a feature - The Nokia 3230. Pity it comes with a brochure from Vodafone saying it is not compatible and will not be able to use the Vodafone push to talk. So regardless of what nokia offer and it comes on the 3230 the key is a programme from motorola compatible with the infrastructure Vodafone use.

You should really be contacting Nokia and asking when they will release devices compatible with the OMA PoC standard (which Vodafone have implemented) rather selling phones which is only compatible with Nokias P2T "standard" they created.

Its not out yet ... but the Motorola RAZR V3x should have push to talk. Its still in "coming soon" status though.
