Hey people, need some help with a phone i just purchased from TradeMe.

It's a brand new Motorola v3xx, however it's an imported one that is branded AT&T.

I'm having issues with receiption; the signil always seems to drop out to emergency only or no service.

I've setup internet on the device but was wondering if there was anything else i needed to do? All settings for network etc are set to automatic.

The trademe listing of the phone is below:

What bands does the handset support?

If its from the US might support GSM850 /GSM1800 and you will only get coverage from Vodafone NZ GSM 1800 capacity sites

Did you get the specs from Motorola or the trader?

i got the specs form the motorola network settings menu.

You can manually select each band but it's currently set to automatic.

Same issues....

This is my fault, i shouldn't have purchased from trademe. There is no way i'll get my money back.... even though it was advertised as a 3g phone and the guy said it will work perfectly in nz.

Oh well, i'll just bite the bullet i think and buy another one.
