I've found out TelstraClear also has problems when connecting to Amazon AWS servers (on top of the still unresolved YouTube problems).

I am trying to download a 190MB application file (in zip format) and since 8am today I've tried about six or seven times - it goes about half way through and dies.

Is anyone else seeing this?

Thanks... I am still trying to download it on TelstraClear...

I am seriously coming to think that after more than ten years as a customer they started to drop the ball.

Send me the link, I'll try to see if my TCL is suffering the same problem. Just so we know it is directly affecting TCL connections.

File downloaded successfully, I'm on TCL 40G 10Mbps.

Downloaded the file via WiFi 802.11n; Job started at 7:47:10pm, completed at 7:53:21pm.

It must be something in Wellington then, because it comes at 90Kbps, and it fails... Just tried again earlier and couldn't download it.

Interesting issue in that different TelstraClear customers gets wildly different experiences...

It looks like Amazon is using (geo) load-balancing for this download. On my test connections, my test downloads came from a number of IP addresses. On my ADSL2+ connection in Auckland, the file downloads successfully, but slowly. About 300-400Kbps.

Would be interested if one of the guys that got excellent performance could send me the IPs that the download came from.

Mine went at 720KB/s on a DSL connection in Hamilton using a download manager. Using firefox's download manager like Zollymonsta is using I got max 280KB/s. Is this the link everyone has been trying?

I want to say thanks to all who offered to download the file and forward it to me. I managed to download it this morning using my Telecom XT connection - still no luck with the TelstraClear connection though.

It was running at ~3 Mb/s for me (TCL ADSL, Whakatane), then I cancelled it and tried again, and didn't even get 1/10th of that. It definitely seems to depend on which server you end up with.
