Very annoying to see this problem again - the last time this was happening it was blamed on (and delayed the launch of) XT.

Yesterday someone tried multiple times to call me from around 10am but no calls came through to the mobile despite me knowing I was at home, not moving around, and "within coverage".

This morning at 11:28am I get a TXT notification advising me of new voicemail - again, the phone never rang and I was within the coverage zone.

Tonight (just now) a friend tried phoning me (from beside me) from his XT mobile and it went straight through to my voicemail. Visually my iPhone had "full" signal, for what that is worth (I was looking at it and anticipating the call to come through).

Where to from here? Don't really feel like paying $1 to report what is essentially something that appears to fall in Vodafone's area of responsibility.

Hi john, no I haven't. Not all calls are going straight to voicemail.

Having said that, I just tried my mobile 3 times (as I typed this) and straight to voicemail x3 (full bars on the iPhone).

About to try a new phone.

Tried it in another handset and recalled. Ok on the other handset. Ok on the iPhone once SIM returned.

I have this same problem with my work N70. I had our phone people escalate to Vodafone corporate support, but no dice - still continues to happen.

a year ago i had a similar problem with a cdma htc titan, calls would ring 2 or 3 rings and go straight to messaging, i called tech support and we tried a live test with 2 phones and what appeared to be happening was that there was a delay connecting to the receiving phone which then meant the originating phone thought the call had not been answered . they tried increasing to ring time to 30 sec's and it still happened. then mysteriusly no more problem .
just lately the same symptoms are appearing on my blackberry . i have been driving along with my phone mounted on the dash and without the bluetooth even coming to life i have a red lite flashing on my phone (you have a new voicemail and a missed call ) . what i might try doing is diverting the calls to my other phone with a divert if not answered filter .

we have a bunch of palm treo 750v's at work and this is normal behaviour for all of us over the last 2.5 years. software and firmware upgrades have made no difference. for me, both home and work get crap voda signal though - call drops when connected are also common. slightly better behaviour when I lock the phone to 3G only, but still a problem

After my post above, I left the SIM in the iPhone.

Several hours later I tried phoning the iPhone (which had been continuously on/in coverage area). Straight to voicemail.

I will have to put the SIM into the other phone for a day or two and see what happens.

Not happy at all with this. I've been away for a while so don't know if this just recurred (since last year's initial brushes with the problem). Last year's problems were all blamed on XT interference.

Par for the course when I was with vodafone except for the text about voicemail coming thru well after the message was left. 3g only was the only way to get reliable calls coming thru to both the N95 and N97 I was using on vodafone throughout last year.

Ported to CDMA and it seems to never happen unless I have no signal, which if I am careful where I leave the phone at home never happens. I had forgotten I had voicemail on it since I didn't have a call hit it for several months.

For the record, I was in 3G coverage area at these times, as indicated by the 3G icon on the iPhone (if this is reliable, that is).

On net or off net?

There seem to be some significant delays occuring again with SMS's between Vodafone and Telecom.

Actually they were off-net from Telecom when I checked just now. Thanks for that info.

Wearing thin now. Delayed on-net SMS (from last night to this afternoon) and another missed call this morning.

PM me your mobile number and I will check if any errors on the radio side and how many times the SMSR tried to push the SMS to the handset
