i recently bought the Panasonic X701 for $199 from harvey norman, it wos down from $399. now i should have been suspicious when they gave it 2 me for that price but i wasnt. now, the fone is in perfect working order except for one thing. it does not send sms messages. they are always put straight into the outbox and eventually fail to send. i took it in to vodafone and they said that i should send it off for software re-installation. i was just wondering if anybody else with this phone had the same problem?

Ok when I got mine in Wellington it worked perfectly but when I got in Auckland for a holiday it didn't send a text so this is what I want you to try and this is what the woman from Vodafone told me:

Step one:
go to menu

Step two:
Messages

step three:
options

step four:
Settings

step five:
SMS

Step six:
Message centres

Step seven:
choose SIM msg.centre(01)

Step eight:
make sure that the Msg. centre number is +6421600600

that should work

umm I think what you are meaning is that there is too many applications open and it asks you to close some applications down. That always happens to me

Fair comment, but the buyers on Trademe who are foolhardy and bid far more than the product is worth have to be responsible for the outcome if they get ripped off. It's amazing how many people fail to do their research before placing a bid, or just get caught up in the drama of the auction,

The X701 Text problem is a mixture of a fault with the phone and the Vodafone network... If you have this problem i recommend returning it to your nearest Vodafone dealer for repair. We had so many problems with the X701's we sold we took them off the self because they were more trouble than they were worth. Lol.
VS 2 - Finally a Panasonic phone bulit correctly! (Sell the X701 and get a VS2) ;)

i was considering getting mine repaired but they said it would take 15days or sumthing and i didnt want to be phone less for that time. i put a $20 reserve on my phone on trade me and said that there were delays in txting and turning it on and that guy still paid 250 therefor i think hes a loser but i got the money so im not complaining
