It was from an 021 number.

It stated: "Your such a P^$%# - Debit where credit's due. Go with Visa Debit."

When i called this number back, it said "The number you have called is not currently active or is invalid".

So how did i get a text from this number if it's invalid?

Ok, that solves the marketing element, but why is the number invalid? Surely the number has to be active to send from free2text?

Just cause a number is showing does not mean it has to accept voice calls

Though somewhat irrelevant, if you have access to an SMS gateway, you can actually send a text 'from' any number you like, invalid or not.

That is weird!!!

If i call it with "64" in front of the number (call from the actuall text msg) it says it's inactive.

If i manually enter the 021 number in and call, i go to voice mail.

Well it's a bit stupid that the format of the senders number is not usable and that you have to manually enter it in if you want to call them.

Shouldn't Vodafone free2text have the number as +64 then, not just 64?
