Just transferred over to Vodafone and wanted to get their WAP settings sent to me, so I navigated to the correct page and, well, see for yourself:

https://www.vodafone.co.nz/help/configure-your-mobile/index.jsp

And just in case they have fixed it by the time you're reading this, here's a screenshot.

What a helpful page.

Thanks HiK1000716, I'll have a look in to it

The issue is occuring when you hit the page securely (i.e. https) which happens if you've logged in to My Vodafone recently.

In the mean time you could try logging out and using John's link again - that should work..

Just beware if you have a 027 number on Vodafone the settings get corrupted as they are sent from overseas and travel thru the Telecom SMSC first.

Why don't vodafone fix that issue with the configuration or at least make it unavailable for ported numbers?

Slingshot manage to send config info to a ported 027 number via vodafone ok, so its obviously doable.

The problem isn't necessarily Vodafone's.

Telecom don't support 8 bit binary SMS's on any of their XT SMS interconnects. You can't go to sites such as Ovi and send configuration details to a XT phone because it won't work. Likewise multipart SMS is not supported off net either and messages will be send as individul SMS messages and not as a single message.

Infact just as an update I tested this now and 8 bit binary SMS seems to work, at least between Vodafone and XT. Obviously this has been fixed within the last couple of months.

Even if they cant fix it, they could put a note on the page that it doesnt work to stop people from trying and finding that it does not work.

Agree, this drove me nuts last year until I finally tried my partners 021 sim in the phone to get the settings!!

Cranz exlained what the issue was above - it was because the OP was using https rather than http which caused the issue.
