"The Common Mayfly has a life expectancy of just one day.....(and ends)......Vodafone, make the most of now."

Just a very simple question from a long time on account customer of Vodafone to the Ivory Towers of Vodafone HQ:

In your world how is the word 'SOON' defined?  Tomorrow, next week, month, year???

Soon is such a convenient word to use sometimes!

Hopefully they don't use the same dictionary TelstraClear use. In which case "Soon" will mean "some time in the new few years".

in the case of SKY and internet access via their set top boxes, "soon" became "never".

The English language can be so arbitrary. No wonder lawyers make so much money - it's all about playing with words.

Next time, ask for "now" rather than "soon":)

I'm pretty sure a memo went round at VF about this... "Soon" has officially been changed to "Watch this space"

And currently reviewing the policy to get "Make the most of now" changed to "Dropped the ball" or "Incompetent"

I'm not sure about the second one... I just caught the end of it on TV3 last night... lol.

Imagine if classic movies peddled the same line as Vodafone!

Schwarzenegger in Terminator - 'I'll be back SOON'

E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial - 'ET phone home SOON.'

Star Wars - 'May the Force SOON be with you."

Gladiator - "At my signal SOON, unleash hell."

Pulp Fiction - "That?s 30 minutes away. I?ll be there SOON."

Today was obviously too soon.  I wonder if tomorrow is going to be soon?  I wonder if Paul is going to comment soon?
