I think Voda was hoping this would fly under the radar on budget day, and they could avoid regulation.

How could such a significant announcement really fly under the radar? There are now 1000's of users who are going to find their calling rates are heading back up again!

The Commerce Commission scored an own goal.

Maybe they were hoping to fly under the radar of Telecom's Big Time announcement... So far it looks like they've succeeded :P

what was the point if they were going to axe it a month later anyway. 32 bucks for calls, texts and internet was perfect for a student.
Well i can still use it for 3 more months, according to the text from vodafone anyway.

Vodafone had no intention of pulling this offer until the response from the Commerce Commission and Communications Minister regarding regulation of termination fees between providers.



In essence Vodafone were being critisied for offering to much value to customers so if you want to complain contact the Commerce Commission.
