Today I decided to check something in my SPA2102, and I found the Cisco logo all over, with new colours too. I am pretty sure last time I logged in it was Linksys...

Has WorldxChange deployed any firmware updates? Or does the box do it automatically?

Yes, same software version, but my hardware is version 1.0.5 and the hostname is SipuraSPA.

Interesting.. did you purchase yours through World XChange or another vendor?
From memory i purchased mine as a "World Xchange" branded through Ascent. Seems mine is also a newer hardware version.

Mine came directly from WorldxChange.

Any Linksys device can automatically provision it's settings and update the firmware if you enter the address of a server that contains these files. If you're running a Linksys device behind a PBX you can do this yourself.

As part of WxC managing the device they can automatically upgrade the firmware of the device also.

GTXBoyRacer, you should edit the picture ASAP to remove your MAC address. It is a security risk for the VFX network and has been said many times on this forum (but I think before you joined).

My firmware has also been updated, I'm on HW version 1.3.5.  Laughing

Could you elaborate on this?  Why is it a security risk?  Or link me to the previous thread?  Smile

It's normal procedcure to provision devices by using the MAC address - any ISP/VoIP provider who does this will create a <MAC>.cfg file for device. I'm sure you can understand the implications of such a setup if somebody wanted to annoy you..
