As a general question - What causes txt messages to go 'astray'?

The reason for asking is that we have a consistent problem with 100% of the messages from my wife's phone not being received by one of her friends and about 50% being missed by my phone (all on Vodafone)

I'm suspicious that it could be that her phone is not sending correctly - while still saying 'sent'  How could we tell?

You best and easiest bet would be to get hold of another phone that's already on the same network as your wife's and test with that.

Audiophiles are such twits! They buy such pointless stuff: Gold plated cables, $2000 power cords. Idiots.

OOOHHHH HYPERFIBRE!

try plugging her sim card into your phone and testing various recipients( to isolate hardware from possible causes) further then that you would have to call the voda helpline to see if there are any issues at the network level
