They can take it away if they want.

But due to the huge popularity of it, I'm betting, like you are, they will extend it.

You tease! ;-)

Further to my post above, due to the high cost of voice calls on either Telecom or Vodafone, New Zealanders have embraced txting in massive numbers. For Vodafone to drop this very good offer would surely be a commercial no-brainer?

How do you get better than free texting all weekend? (within reason)

My personal view is that they'll probably extend the duration to match the $10 Text promotion run by Telecom.

Otherwise, I don't see Prepay users getting much bang for their buck in text messaging and potentially jumping ship.

Or can it and launch some great new plans, hopefully without Voice minutes I never use! Caps like Australia maybe....hint hint.... Noone would care of $10TXT or free TXT weekends then :-D

They might push prepay users onto account to get a new TXT or Cap plan?

Telstra in Australia already do that - it's not as silly as it sounds!

Well not to make calls but receive them

http://www.geekzone.co.nz/content.asp?contentid=4785

I couldn't see any reference to it on the Telstra site so I'm not sure if it's still in existance.
