Hi, today I was just mucking around with the softwear that came with my Samsung Zv10. I was lookign at the "Manage internet connections". So I trird setting it up.

So anyway, I was able to use my Smasung phone as a CDMA modem and it connected to the internet via Vodafone.
But now i'm pissed off cause it used up all of the credit on my pre-paid phone ($9).
Whats the pricing on this? I wanna ring up vodafone and complain about this, and themn not writing anywhere what the costs would be, and get my money back.

Mobile Data Plans are charged at $10/MB (megabyte) if a casual rate (no contract/plan) is applied. It's on Vodafone Data Plans page.

I doubt they will refund, since this is marked on their website.

indapie2000 why ring up vodafone and complain the charging is very clear on the website. If you left your heater on all day would you ring up the power company and request a refund on your power bill !!!

Even if you did not have internet access you could of dialed 777 free and ask the rates for data usage on prepay.

Only one person to blame here and its not vodafone sorry

Ok, I get it all now.

But how can they (Vodafone) justify the prices for it? I mean $10 a MB? WTF is up with that?
And is there a way to tell how much data you have used unfer 'casual' rates?

NOTE: Could someone move this topic, it's got nothing to do with TelecomNZ

Think if it was 20 cents per meg or cheaper how over loaded things would get there is only limited capacity per cell and each data session you should use the data counter in your PC. Add the up and down link togother and thats how much data you have moved for that session. (hope this makes sense)

Check out TCNZs prepay rate per meg (don't hold me to this) but its 50 cents per 10kb of data which works out to $50 per meg

(sorry Telecom people if I got this wrong)

You are in fact wrong. Telecom casual data is $8 per meg.
Mobile data is not avaialble on Prepaid.
Telecom WAP charges for off-portal is $50 per meg. (Post and Pre paid).

Wap is always charged at WAP rates on TCom, never at Data plan rates.
